How to make the most of your Christmas Holiday Marketing

Can you believe it: Christmas is less than two weeks away!! And, we hate to overload you, but … you should also be thinking about your business’ Christmas holidays marketing. Last year, Australians spent $51.5 BILLION on holiday shopping. The predictions are already rolling in that this year will be even bigger. We know you don’t want to miss out on a slice of those profits so, here are a few tips on how you can make the most out of your Christmas holiday marketing.

Tug at heartstrings

Christmas brings out the sentimental in most people. They see the lights, smell the gingerbread cookies, hear the carols and squeals of excitement and inevitably make the Ebenezer Scrooge transition. So, tapping into those family vibes or emotional ties is a smart move when preparing your Christmas marketing campaigns.

Update your Social Media Presence

If you haven’t already done so, change your social media branding to subtly (or not-so-subtly) be Christmas oriented. This means changing your logo to include something Christmassy, adding Christmas emojis to your social media captions, even including little nods to Christmas in all your social media photos. They don’t need to be gaudy, just something to show that you are embracing the cheer.

Solve the buyer’s problems

We know we said to embrace the Christmas cheer, but we also want you to think about those that don’t enjoy Christmas. Think about that aspect of your business which might remove some of their Christmas stress. It might be that they are hosting Christmas, they can’t find that perfect gift, they are struggling with the cost of the season or any number of all of the other stressors of this time of the year. Create a campaign targeted at them.

If you haven’t come around to email marketing, now is the time. Christmas is the perfect opportunity to make those on your mailing list feel special and appreciated. Consider creating a daily deal promotion just for your email subscribers. It is an excellent way to way of drive customers to particular products and keeps your eCommerce or Shopify site active at the end of the Christmas chaos.
